Welcome visitors to the District 65 website!

Step 1 - getting started

The first thing to do is find the clubs near you. On the home page of this website is a listing of all the cities and towns in District 65 that have existing clubs. They are arranged according to which Division they belong in. Click on the name of the town you are interested in and you get a listing of clubs, times and the location where they meet, and contact information for a member of the club.

Alternatively, once you know what Division you are in, the Division Teams pages offer a closer look at the clubs and District Leaders in that Division. In some cases, the clubs may even have a website address for you to visit. You can find the Division Teams pages under District Leaders. Feel free to contact anyone on these pages and ask for assistance in getting in touch with a club.

But perhaps there is not a club convenient to your location? Maybe you and 19 of your friends want to start a new club? At the bottom of each of the above mentioned Division Teams pages is an officer called "Chair, Club Extension". This is the person who is always on the lookout for new club opportunities and will joyfully welcome any information you can pass along.

Step 2 - consider your options

The next step is to contact your club prospect and arrange for a visit. Better yet, contact several clubs and try them all out. Different clubs have different personalities and you want to choose one you will be most comfortable with.

When you have settled on a club, the VP of Membership for that club will be the person who can help you sign up. As a member, the VP of Education is the person who will help you set goals and work your way towards achieving them. This page details the seven club Officers and what they do to keep the clubs running smoothly.

Step 3 - the educational program

The Toastmasters program has something for everyone. The first 10 speech assignments will teach you the basic building blocks that every speaker needs. Your completion of these assignments is an important milestone as you move along the educational path and your hard work is recognized with a Competent Communicator award. From there you can move out into the advanced manuals and learn more specialized speaking skills.

We, the members of District 65, are anxious to share with you the value we have gotten out of the Toastmasters program and we look forwards to meeting you at a club near you. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the people you will see on this website.
