What is Speechcraft?
Toastmasters Clubs may offer community and corporate Speechcraft™ Programs. These programs range from 4-8 weeks in length. You can use these programs as spring board to build your own Toastmasters Club. These are standard programs, used worldwide.

Why should a club conduct a Speechcraft?
* Speechcraft is a proven way to build club membership.
* It serves as a refresher course in public speaking for members.
* It enhances meeting attendance and interest among all members.
* It gives members an opportunity to exercise their communication and leadership skills.
* It furthers the Mission of Toastmasters International and its Clubs.
* Speechcraft coordinators fulfill one of the requirements for the ATM Gold recognition.

How does a club host a Speechcraft?
* Contact any District officer who will help you to coordinate your Speechcraft.
* Order a Speechcraft Kit from Toastmasters International. The Kit contains a Coordinator's Guide, Participant Handbooks and other supporting materials.
* Set a date, time and location for the Speechcraft.
* Schedule/assign presenters and mentors.
* Advertise, advertise, advertise!
* Complete the Speechcraft Survey after your Speechcraft is completed to help other coordinators plan their Speechcrafts.

What will you learn in Speechcraft?
Through these programs you will gain confidence in all aspects of communication including written and impromptu speeches, body language, vocal variety and visual aids. This will improve your performance in public meetings, business meetings, motivating people, material presentations, interviews, sales, and problem solving.

* Speak without fear in front of small and large groups of people.
* Prepare effective speeches in a limited time frame.
* Improve your presentation skills and win the respect and admiration of your colleagues.
* Lead effective meetings and increase your management potential.

How will Speechcraft meet your needs?
* Speechcraft is a program designed for beginners in public speaking.
* It's a hands-on program that provides the *how-to* and practical experience in public speaking and leadership.
* It's cost effective. The cost for a 6-8 week Speechcraft is significantly less than other public speaking and leadership courses.
* It promotes an atmosphere of professional camaraderie dedicated to personal improvement.
* It may be tailored to meet your personal objectives.

How does the Program work?
* Each Speechcraft participant experiences a wide range of communication experiences.
* Each participant receives a Toastmasters Speechcraft Handbook and other valuable reference materials.
* The initial prepared speeches are designed with the novice speaker in mind. No experience is needed.
* A variety of assigned short speeches help participants develop competency.
* During each meeting a short impromptu speaking session is conducted to help participants learn to think and speak effectively on their feet.
* After giving a prepared speech, each participant receives a constructive speech evaluation.
* Upon completion of the basic course, you will have the option to continue your training at a Toastmasters Club.

Fees
Program costs include printing, postage, manuals, advertising, and room costs. Excess funds are retained in the club treasury for other educational purposes. Toastmasters who provide the training do so as part of their own training development, and are not paid.

Note: No individual, educational institution, or other organization may derive financial gain either directly or indirectly from conducting either the Speechcraft program or the Youth Leadership Program.
